ABOUT DAVE
Dave Robertson is a strategic and global C-level Human Resources (HR)
executive with over 20 years of extensive experience in building
high-performing HR organizations within public and private companies
across multiple industries including Technology, Social Media, Hospitality,
Events, Aerospace, Defense and Business Services. With a proven track
record of success, Robertson is an expert at driving organization change
in support of company strategy and initiatives through effective and
collaborative leadership practices. His core competencies within HR
include Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Leadership Development
and Coaching, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations, Labor
Relationsand Mergers and Acquisitions.
Most recently, Robertson was recruited into private equity owned National Technical Systems (NTS)
($260MM USD in revenues) as its Chief HR Officer in 2014 and remained in the role through the
company’s eventual successful sale to a larger Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) company in late
2022. Robertson continued in his role through the subsequent restructuring of the company post-sale
and played an important role in leading the integration of NTS into the larger parent company.
Over his tenure at NTS, Robertson drove significant change and improvements in the Human Resources
Function while supporting and contributing to similar transformational change at the company. Key
successes within the Human Resources function including establishing a uniform and cohesive support
model for employees with the establishment of a more robust HR Service Center and the alignment of
HR Business Partners with key business units throughout the company. With this structure and support
model in place, the HR organization effectively supported the growth of the company inclusive of 9
acquisitions of other TIC companies resulting in over 20% of incremental revenue and EBITDA growth. In
addition to leading HR, Robertson ultimately assumed responsibility for NTS’ Safety organization and in
conjunction with the Operations and Engineering teams was able to achieve a reduction in Incident rates
of over 300% resulting in Safety performance that exceeded industry standards.
Prior to his successful tenure at NTS, Robertson served in several other CHRO or Senior HR executive
roles at Fortune 1000 companies including Viad Corp (previously Dial Corp), Insight Enterprises,
Honeywell and America Online. A consistent outcome within these experiences was Robertson being
able to drive incremental improvement and results in the HR organization in support of the company’s
overall business objectives. As a result, each of these company experiences resulted in either
Robertson’s promotion or him being asked to take on more functional responsibility to drive further
progress and improved performance.
Robertson holds both an MBA (General Management) and BBA (Human Resources Management) from
the University of New Mexico where he played NCAA Division 1 college soccer prior to going on to play
professionally. Among numerous other leadership development experiences, Robertson has a Green
Belt in Six Sigma and participated in Honeywell’s Leadership Development program for designated top
leadership talent in the company. He is married with four children and 3 dogs that keep him hopping in
his spare time.
